Everyone's favourite dour-faced indie-pop darling Keane dropped his era-defining Hopes & Fears a full 20 years ago now, which is hard to believe. To mark the occasion of the anniversary it gets a special edition and limited re-release here on gatefold cream and galaxy vinyl. The album was, in the UK at least, the 11th-best-selling album of the 2000s and is packed with melancholic yet beautiful uplifting tunes that are stepped in romance such as the standout 'Everybody's Changing' and 'Somewhere Only We Know'. It is brought to life by Tim Rice-Oxley's piano stylings on gems like 'Can't Stop Now' and 'Your Eyes Open', all of which add backbone to the great songwriting.
